The Best Beef Burgers Recipe

  1. Fry the chopped onion and garlic in a little olive oil until soft and translucent. Allow this mixture to cool
  2. Place the mince, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce and egg yolk into a large bowl. Squish together with your hands to combine
  3. Use your hands to shape into eight or so equally-sized patties. I tend to make my burger patties on the thin side, as I find the meat cooks more evenly and stays juicier this way.
  4. Brush both sides of the patties with olive oil.
  5. Cook the burgers under the grill or pan fry for two-three minutes on both sides.  When the mince as good quality as ours, you can serve your burgers rare, but if you prefer them well done, cook for a minute longer on both sides.
  6. Once cooked, remove the patties from the pan and allow to rest about 2 minutes.
  7. Serve the burgers on your favourite buns, topped with your favourite burger trimmings.
